New York City is a place filled with iconic photo spots. On a recent visit, my friend Adam Miller took me to Dumbo in Brooklyn for a morning of photography.
I'm be interested in your thought and work process when you edit photos. Unlike the older roll cameras, I find that digital requires editing on most of my photos. The good thing, of course, is that you see your images when they're downloaded to the computer.
Thanks for this blog. I enjoy following your work on Instagram. :)
Thank you, Bernard. My workflow is pretty simple, and I use a hybrid one since I no longer have a wet darkroom. I've been toying with the idea of going back to one, but I like the results I get when I print on my Cannon pro-1000. Anyway, for most of 2022, I have developed my B&W film in 510pyro. Then I scan on an Epson v850. I import the scanned image to Lightroom on my Mac and sync them so I can access them on my IPad using the Lightroom app. On the IPad, I typically limit what I do to the image to dodging, burning, and cropping if I feel the image needs it. For most of what you see on Instagram, I then take that image and drop it into a digital frame. I started doing that with pano images so they would look better, and now I do it for all the formats I shoot.
Thanks for your comment! I checked on 510pyro. It sounds like a good product.
I had to read up on what a digital frame was. Always so much to learn.
I've tried selling my photos on stock photo sites, with no luck.
I'm very much of an amateur, but still enjoy taking pictures. I bought an entry level camera a few months ago, the Canon EOS RP. It's basically all I could afford, but have had some success with it.
Thanks again for your comment. It was more info for my tool box 🙂
I think there’s much to be said for being an amateur, I am one too in the sense I do photography out of love for it and not to make income. I have sold a few prints but thats not really the point for me. It’s just.a great and endlessly fascinating thing to do.
Absolutely love it, Scott. You’ve captured the vibe of our morning together very well! It was great fun!!
Thanks Adam! It was an awesome time in an awesome place. And the bagel was great too!
Great shots of surely iconic New York landmarks.

Absolutely love the Empire State framed in the bridge supports!
